  • Closure: Mount Shasta-McCloud Seasonal Area and Road Closure The Forest Service is issuing a Forest Order to close an area and roads on the Mount Shasta and McCloud Ranger Districts during winter conditions to minimize natural resource damage and to maintain a safe area for winter recreation use. Since Oct. 5, 2026.
  • Closure: Bailey Cove Road Closure Order The Forest Service is issuing a Forest Order for public safety to close Forest Road No. 34N40Y (Bailey Cove) and Forest Road No. 34N40YA on the Shasta Lake Ranger District within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. These roads are in an area undergoing construction from two failed culverts. Since Sept. 4, 2026.
  • Closure: Gateway Area Trails Closure 2026 The order will close two trails in the Gateway Trails System (Magma – 04W50 and Deadwood – 04W51) on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.   • Closure: North Fork Coffee Creek Trail Closure Order The Shasta-Trinity National Forest is closing a portion of the North Fork Coffee Creek Trail.   • Closure: Trout Creek Bridge Closure Order The Trout Creek Bridge, a foot bridge in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, has a large crack that has fully compromised its structural integrity. The bridge in its current state represents a public safety hazard. Since Jan. 17, 2026.
  • Closure: South Fork Suspension Bridge Closure Weather-related damage to the suspension bridge of the South Fork National Recreation Trail south of the Scott Flat Campground has forced a closure of the bridge due to public safety concerns. Since Dec. 24, 2025.
  • Closure: Ah-Di-Na Area Closure Portions of AH-DI-NA is closed to protect endangered species in this area on the Shasta Lake Ranger District. Since May 22, 2025.
  • Closure: Road Closure on Wild Mad Road A portion of Wild Mad Road near the community of Payne, CA, in Trinity County has been closed due to the failure of a culvert beneath the roadway. The closure is necessary due to safety concerns for the public.Those exempt from this order include persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48,… Since May 15, 2025.
  • Closure: Mud and Ash Creek Area and Road Closure Portions of Mud and Ash Creek: FS Roads 40N56, 41N29, 41N17, 41N17A, and 41N31 are closed to the Mount Shasta Wilderness are closed due to public safety on the Mount Shasta Ranger District. Since May 2, 2025.
  • Closure: Madrone Campground Closure Madrone Campground on the Shasta Lake Ranger District is closed to provide for public safety. Since Nov. 23, 2024.
